How To Avoid A Burnout And Stay In Balance

1.     Make a list of things that are making you happy

Our goal here is to get back our happiness and excitement for life. Remember every little things that fills your heart with positive emotions. When you’re done, keep this list somewhere in sight. Next time you’re feeling down, open up the list and choose 1 or more things to make yourself happy at the moment.

2.     Take some days off or some full vacation time

Rest is very important without it it would be difficult to get past the burnout stage. If traveling is not an option, take a few more days off than you would normally allow yourself to and fill it up with the items from your “happiness list”. This will help you to feel balanced again and bring some new inspiration and energy.

3.     Physical activity

A good workout is associated with mostly physical benefits, but it’s much more than that. Your body is releasing endorphins and gives you more energy. And you don’t have to go to the gym to get the benefits. Try to start your morning with a small stretch, plank pose or a 15 minute run. Try this for a few days and notice if you feel any difference.

4.     Find a hobby

It’s very helpful to have an activity you love to do besides work. This is something that excites you and you do just for the fun of it.

5.     Spend time in the nature

Spending time in the nature is always filling up our mental energy tank. It is also great to analyze our thoughts or to simply spend some time along and meditate.
